Hey,
Just wondering if this is normal.
My cat will see something (not sure what) out the window, will poof out her tail and fur on her body, and all I can hear is her banging against the vertical blinds... my friend says this is weird... is she right?

I don't think so. As people who are blind, it isn't easy knowing what our cats stare at. It might be a bird, or something else moving outside. Every cat I've ever had has done that when something agitates them.

No, this doesn't sound like it's anything you should worry about. If a cat sees something out the window, like a bird, etc. they will get excited, agitated, etc. Poofing up their fur is just a defense mechanism they use. My cats sit in open windows all the time, to get fresh air, but they also watch all the other little creatures outside, and when they see them, they swish their tails back and forth, etc. So, unless it gets a lot worse, I dont' think this is anything you need to worry about.

sounds like perfectly natural behaviour to me.

I don't see anything out of the ordinary in that behavior. It's normal for a cat to watch and react to an outside stimulous. It's good for your cat, they're watching cat TV. About the poofing up of fur. My Siamese are hysterical when they do that. You see, they are extremely short furred, and they can't poof up all of their fur, just their tails and a ridge of fur along their backs. They look so funny when they get angry. I feel badly for them, they just look ridiculous.

My cat Oreo does that to so there's nothing to be worried about.

Orio? That's such a cute name for a cat. Is he or she, black and white or brown and white?

It a girl she is black all over but has fluffy white hair on her underside. And her hind two legs are white towards the bottom where her paws are.
